The conclave consisted of a total of 7 panel discussions, ranging from almost all the facets of industry. In an interactive and lively session consisting of Dev K. Ramchandani, Director and Head-India, Hitachi Consulting, and Wishwas Julka, VP, Global Tata Group sales, Tata Technology among others, the panel members agreed that India, given its huge youth population, is at a vantage point when it comes to adaptability of technology and must readily embrace the same. Anil Dua, Senior Director and Sales Head, Phillips India Ltd. predicted, “E-commerce is here to stay and the combination of online and offline is the strategy for retail in the near future”. Mayank Batheja, Vice President, GirnarSoft and Prabhakar Tiwari, CMO, PayU also chipped in their views on the changes that retail sector is currently undergoing. Debating whether the internet is more than just another channel, Nima Namchu, CCO, Havas Worldwide observed “The speed with which News reaches us, and the anonymity that internet provides, gives us the power to react without any fear”.
As part of a discussion on how IT and analytics have transformed global business environment, Pradeep Saini, Director, Infrastructure services delivery, IBM, remarked that “IT, when looked at from a business perspective, is no longer limited to boardroom discussions”. Talking about Indian finance and its road to global financial supremacy, Ritu Madan, Director and Co founder, Script Infinite Services Pvt. Ltd. explained how with the diffusion of services across digital media and automation, we are on the verge of an industry defining moment. Explaining the significance of healthcare as an economic development opportunity, Gaurav Malhotra, CEO, Medicover Healthcare, remarked that only with continued innovation and effectiveness can the Indian healthcare industry become the next major export for India. Exploring the unconscious bias faced by women in business, Divya Amarnath, Lead Principal Learning & Development, Infosys, pointed out that even the advocates of women in the corporation are sometimes unaware of the unconscious bias and stereotypes that affect their judgement.
